We are seeking a capable, caring and responsible nanny to help with four children from to 9am, five days a week. ABOUT US We are professional couple based in Albany on Auckland’s North Shore. We have four children, aged 12 (boy), 10 (girl), 4 (boy) and 2 (girl). The older two children are with us every second week, so half the time it would be 4 children and the other half it would be two. The children are intelligent, articulate, happy and well behaved (at least most of the time!). Both younger children are toilet trained. We have no pets and are not a religious family. THE ROLE. The core task involves in helping to get the kids up, dressed, fed and out the door to school and day care on time. The older two children are responsibly self-sufficient (can breakfast and make lunch for themselves and can make their own way to school by walking or the bus). The younger two need some support for breakfast and to be driven to day care (10km, 20 min drive in the morning). Other tasks would involve general assistance around the house including tidying up, minor chores such as loading the dishwasher, putting on the occasional slow cooker meal, putting on a load of washing, folding etc. We have a house cleaner so cleaning is not required per se – the non-kids tasks are more akin to a house keeper. Basically, anything you can do to help make the household run smoother and easier would be great. If you wanted to extend the time to 3 hours per day to include cleaning we would be very happy to do so. We could also offer additional baby-sitting hours on an irregular basis at nights. We could also potentially extend the hours to be full time during holidays if that works for us both. This would be a minimum one year commitment starting in February 3rd 2020. PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES: Successful applicants will have:  Previous childcare (3+ years) experience is necessary – we don’t require a formal qualification but you must be comfortable and experienced with sole charge of young children.  You must have a current and clean full driver’s license  A non-smoker  Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa  You need to be able to provide references and be comfortable with a police check.  You need to be comfortable with the light house work component of the role. It would be a major advantage to:  First Aid / CPR trained  Own a safe and reliable vehicle. We can provide car seats if you don’t own any.  have some flexibility to work around the occasional change in schedule.  Have had some experience dealing with pre-teens.
